What if you could give a hand-up, not a hand-out, to women and children in your own community needing some support finding their way down the road to self-sufficiency?
What if you could feel really good about doing your part to make a change AND meeting fun, interesting new friends while sharing an appetizing lunch in a beautiful venue, the Mill Creek Country Club?
Our annual auction in November is an amazing opportunity for women helping women gain independence and self-reliance. Last year we contributed a grand total of approximately $20,000 to Pathways which helped purchase dressers and desks for their housing.
In the past we have provided such diverse items as play equipment and funds for child therapy. The YWCA strives to eliminate poverty, violence and racism by helping women empower themselves.
Auction donations of goods and services are gratefully appreciated by October 15.
Clothing and household donations for Pathways are always welcomed.
We are 125 members strong and growing. Women’s Club meets the third Wednesday of each month September through May for a General Membership Meeting to conduct some business, socialize, dine deliciously, win whimsical raffle goodies and to be informed, enlightened or entertained by creative programming.
September’s meeting date is an exception and will be Wednesday the 25th. The guest speaker will be relating personal life experiences and moving forward through Pathways. This topic is usually both motivational and emotional. All meetings begin at 10:30.
