Aaron Lommers of the Everett Herald reports that the Wildcats beat the Lions 7-6 in the 2012 2A state baseball championship game at County Stadium in Yakima on Saturday.
"Not many high school baseball players know what it feels like to deliver a walk-off hit in extra innings to win a state championship game," said Lommers. "Archbishop Murphy’s Eric Lawson does now. The Wildcats’ senior hit a curveball into center field in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday night, scoring Patrick Spak and Trever Morrison as Murphy came from behind to defeat Lynden 7-6 in eight innings in the 2A state championship game."
