Bomb Squad responds to threat in South Everett

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Motel 6 on 128th Street SE in south Everett after an anonymous 911 caller reported there was possibly a bomb planted at that location on Tuesday evening, January 3rd. Guests were evacuated, but no explosives were found after bomb dogs swept all guest rooms.

On Tuesday evening, January 3, 2018, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a bomb call located at a motel in the 220 block of 128th Street SW.

At approximately 11:30 pm an anonymous person called 911 reporting that he had received a text message from someone who claimed there was a bomb somewhere at the Motel 6.

The Intra-agency Bomb Squad (comprised of members from Sheriff’s Office, Everett Police Department, and Washington State Patrol) responded and evacuated all residents and employees.

Bomb dogs swept all the guest rooms for any indication of explosives. No bomb or explosive material was located and residents and employees were allowed to return to the location.
