Mill Creek will soon have another source for yummy desserts in the Mill Creek Town Center. Nothing Bundt Cakes is currently renovating the old FROST Doughnut space near Central Market and hopes to be open for business in late August.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is a nation-wide bakery chain that started in Las Vegas in 1997. With locations from Florida to California, they sell, ”… hand-made, premium quality desserts with an irresistible taste and a timeless aesthetic.”

Lea Saunders and her husband Brian are co-owners of the Mill Creek Nothing Bundt Cakes. Having recently moved to the Puget Sound area from Costa Rica where they had been living “off the grid” for a number of years, they used a commercial real estate agent to help them find the perfect location for their new business.

“We chose Mill Creek over other east side locations because of Mill Creek’s sense of community, its beauty, and how engaged everyone is. The Art Walks, the Mill Creek Festival, and the Santa Parade make Mill Creek a special place,” said Saunders. She also said that Mill Creek has very good name recognition, “Everyone we talked with in Seattle and on the east side knows where Mill Creek is.”

Saunders went on to say that the City of Mill Creek has been very helpful with building permits and their business license, “The people there were really on top of things. They are completely engaged in the process and have been helping us every step of the way. The way they volunteer information and get answers to our questions is incredible.”

We look forward to trying out one of their cakes soon!
