On Friday, August 2, 2019, City Manager Michael Ciaravino announced Tara Dunford is the City of Mill Creek's Interim Finance Director.
“We are looking forward to having Ms. Dunford as an integral part of the team,” said Ciaravino.
He went on to say, “She is a respected CPA with an excellent understanding of governmental accounting.”
Dunford possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Washington State University as well as CPA certification from the Washington State Board of Accountancy.
Previously, Dunford worked as a Controller for the Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma, and as internal auditor and senior accountant for the Pierce County Budget and Finance Department.
For the past three years she has worked as an independent CPA and has a number of ongoing contracts with various organizations.
“I appreciate the opportunity to work with the City of Mill Creek,” said Dunford.
She went on to say, “I am poised to work with the current finance department staff to address the city’s needs moving forward.”
Dunford assumes the duties of Finance Director Peggy Lauerman, who submitted her resignation on July 26th.
