From a City of Mill Creek news release.
As part of Coffee with a Cop Day, residents are invited to meet with Mill Creek Police at three coffee shops around the city on Wednesday morning, October 3, 2018, from 7:30 to 10:00 am.
Coffee with a Cop Day is a national community outreach campaign to help understand mutual goals between officers and the public. Better relationships between residents and police make policing easier by enhancing communication and building trust.
Police will be at the following locations ready to meet and converse with residents:
- Buffalo Espresso, 15109 35th Ave SE.
- Starbucks Town Center, 15517 Main Street.
- Starbucks Murphy’s Corner, 2130 132nd Street SE.
“Coffee with a Cop is a fun event for our officers to participate in,” said Sergeant Detective Stan White. “We invite people to grab their favorite beverage and join us for conversation. It’s an opportunity for us to be more connected with our community members and to gain valuable feedback.”
Coffee with a Cop was started in Hawthorne, Calfornia, in 2011 and has since spread to all 50 states and nine countries.
