The Snohomish County council presented the 2014 Pacific All-Stars with a resolution commending the team’s recent Little League performance on Wednesday, August 27, 2014.
The team of 12-year-olds began the post season with their third consecutive District 1 title, a feat they previously accomplished while in the 10-year old and 11-year divisions.
They advanced to the Washington State Championships and became the first team from the Edmonds/Lynnwood area to win a state title.
Their success continued by winning the Pacific Northwest Championships thus advancing to the 2014 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
“Thank you for doing it the right way,” said County Councilman Terry Ryan.
“Sometimes people say you have to cut corners to have success and you are living proof that’s not true,” Ryan told the team. “You can do it the right way and still compete at the highest levels.”
Team manager Robley Corsi, Jr, assistant coaches Eric Grant, Ross Kruse and Sean Durbin, and League President Doug Sheldon helped lead team members Read Carr, Robley Corsi III, Tygan Duncan, Tyler Durbin, Ben Grant, Nate King, Logan Kruse, Ian Michael, Tai Starchman, Karsen Tjarneberg, Matthew Turcotte, Mason Vaughn, and Cotton Walsh through the successful season.
“We are so very proud of you,” Ryan added.
