From a December 3, 2019, Everett Public Schools news release.
In November, April Berg was elected to fulfill a six-year term as Position 2 member of the Everett Public Schools Board of Directors.
Berg was sworn into office by State Representative John Lovick at the Tuesday, December 3rd, school board meeting.
“I’m so excited to work with such a wonderful, scholarly advocate for children,” stated Superintendent Ian Saltzman.
“Ms. Berg is a great asset to our team,” he added.
Following Berg's oath of office, the school board launched its annual process to elect new officers.
After nominations and three separate voting processes, Caroline Mason assumed the president’s chair, Pam LeSesne stepped into the seat for vice president, and April Berg became the school board's parliamentarian.
The last open school board member position will be determined after a recount is certified, which is expected to be Friday, December 13th.
The board member elect will be sworn in at the January 14, 2020, school board meeting.
