At 5:16 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, Snohomish County Fire District 7 firefighters were dispatched to a report of smoke in the area of the 1400 block of North Machias Road. A neighbor had called 911 after seeing smoke from a potential illegal burn.

Firefighters arrived on scene where a small residential burn pile was burning. However, after further investigation the heavy smoke was found to be coming from an RV on the back of the property. Crews quickly engaged the fire as the RV was now fully involved.

The RV was known to neighbors as being occupied. The resident was later confirmed safe at a family member’s home at the time of the fire.

Crews from Fire District 7 were assisted by Marysville Fire to help contain the flames to the RV preventing further spread of the fire to surrounding exposures.

The RV is a total loss. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
