At 2:40 am on Sunday, July 3, 2016, firefighters from Fire District 7 were dispatched to a report of an unknown type of fire at the 22800 block of 106th Drive SE east of Maltby. A few minutes later it was upgraded to residential structure fire.

When crews arrived they found flames coming out the front window that were extending approximately 30 feet high.

Firefighters were able to gain control of the fire and put out the flames about 10 minutes after arriving on scene.

No one was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

It does not appear to be intentionally set and it was not fireworks related.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
