With input from our friends at Seattle Humane we are featuring a dog that needs a loving home.
Akamai is from Maui, and his name means “intelligent” in Hawaiian. The name definitely suits him!
When Akamai arrived at the shelter, he was pretty rowdy, but he is a fast learner and his manners have already improved dramatically!
Akamai is eager to please and he will be a star student with a willing trainer! He quickly mastered commands such as “Sit” and “Shake,” and he is capable of so much more!
Akamai is a gorgeous and charming four-year old American Pit Bull Terrier mix. He looooves having his belly scratched, he is affectionate, and he is silly and playful.
While his rough edges still need a little polish, Akamai is truly a “diamond in the ruff” for an adopter who is willing to provide him with ample love and exercise and some additional basic training.
If you are looking for an athletic, fun-loving, goofy, smart puppy-at-heart, it's definitely time to say aloha to Akamai!
Akamai is altered, micro-chipped and vaccinated. He will go home with a certificate for a free examination by a King County veterinarian and an identification tag. Most dog adoptions include 30 days of pet insurance from Trupanion and a training rebate when you complete a dog behavior course - a great way to learn and bond together.
