The Mill Creek Parks and Recreation Board and Community Development staff invite you to help design the City’s newest park in the East Gateway neighborhood.  Please join them for a brainstorming session at the Heatherwood Middle School Cafeteria on October 2, 2013, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Following an introduction by staff to provide background and an overview of park planning requirements, participants will break into small discussion groups to brainstorm ideas for facilities that should be included in the new park and how the park should be designed.

Next Steps:

  • The park design consultant will take the ideas generated during this brainstorming session and develop two Master Plan alternatives to be presented at an open house on November 6, 2013.
  • The Parks and Recreation Board will take the input received at the November open house and make a recommendation to the City Council on the preferred alternative.
  • The City Council will review the recommendation and take action on the Park Master Plan as soon as this December.
  • Construction could begin as early as next spring.

Please visit the City’s website: www.cityofmillcreek.com and sign-up under Notify Me to be emailed notice of future meetings.

If you are unable to attend this first kick-off meeting but would like to share your ideas, visit the Planning Department page of the City’s website or call Community Development staff at (425) 745-1891.
