Jackson High School gets new softball coach

David Krueger of the Everett Herald reported that Kyle Peacocke has taken over as the Jackson High School softball coach. Peacocke moved from Everett High School to take over Mike Moran’s successful program. Moran is starting a new softball program at Marysville Getchell High School, which is much closer to his home.

Moran enjoyed being the Jackson High School’s coach, but the excitement of starting up a new program and the new five-minute commute enticed him to move.

Peacocke also got a shorter commute. "The driving force for my decision to apply for the Jackson job was my family," said Peacocke, who has a daughter in third grade and a son in kindergarten. "We live basically two minutes away from Jackson High School. It was kind of a matter of being closer to home and more directly connected to the community my kids are growing up in," said Peacocke.

Jackson High School is getting an experienced coach. "I was the head coach of Everett for 12 years and I'm very proud of the program we established there and I had the time of my life. It's something that will always be special for me," Peacocke said.
