Jackson High School Girl's Basketball Team Gets Fourth at State

The Everett Herald reported that the Jackson girls’ fourth place finish at the 4A state championship tournament this year is their best result ever.  The Timberwolves previous best was eighth place in 2007.

After a disappointing loss to Mount Rainier, 57-39, on March 1st; the Jackson High School girls basketball team came back with a convincing win against Eastlake, 62-57, on March 2nd.

This set up the opportunity for the Timberwolves to play Woodinville High School at the Tacoma Dome on March 3rd.  The winner of this game got 4th place, and the loser gets sixth place.

Woodinville jumped off to an early lead, and was ahead until the beginning of the fourth quarter.  However, the Timberwolves never gave up and outscored Woodinville 15-5 in the fourth quarter.  The game-wining layup came from Sierra Anderson just before the buzzer sounded, resulting in a 49-48 final score. Sophomore Keli Kingma was the high scorer for Jackson with 21 points.
