From a Lake Stevens Rowing Club news release.

Lake Stevens Rowing Club (LSRC) announces the start of its 2016 Spring Season with great opportunities for Junior and Master rowers alike.

On January 23rd, Lake Stevens Rowing Club will host Olympic Gold Medalist, Anna Mickelson Cummins and World Champion, Angie Sievers.

For those interested in learning more about the sport of rowing or just curious to see the boathouse, all are welcome!

The LSRC crew will be there to kick-off the spring season and share their experiences with the community. The open house starts at 10:00 am and goes until 2:00 pm. There will be time with the athletes, instruction on the rowing machines, and weather permitting, time in the boats on the water.

Lake Stevens Rowing Club, founded in 1996, is lead by a team of certified coaches and has established itself as a great contributor to the community. Most recently, members of the team placed 2nd in the Junior Men’s (2x) and 3rd in the Junior Women’s (4x+) at the largest West Coast Head of the Lake Regatta in Seattle.

While the club launches out of the north cove of Lake Stevens, its membership spans from Woodinville and Snohomish up to Everett and Marysville.

As the largest lake in Snohomish County, Lake Stevens has come to be known as “Snohomish County’s place to Row.”

Where Lake Stevens Rowing Club differs from others is that it offers year-round Junior’s rowing from those aged 13-18. We foster all experience levels and remain open to all that want to participate.

In addition to the skill of rowing, teammates learn a great deal about leadership, commitment, overall fitness training and most importantly, form long lasting friendships with their teammates.

Our masters team is comprised of adults (19 and older) that have a love for the sport and a love of the lake.

Every Saturday and Sunday morning you will find our masters crew out at 7:00 am enjoying the calm and peacefulness of the lake but also getting an amazing workout at the same time.

New this winter, the master’s team is sponsoring erg/rowing at the boathouse every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7pm to 8:30pm. There is a place for everyone at LSRC.

Join us on January 23rd at the LSRC Boathouse. The boathouse is located at 1803 123rd Drive NE, Lake Stevens.
