Many Mill Creek residents heard the helicopter hovering overhead late Tuesday evening, April 9th. It turns out it was the King County’s Guardian 1 helicopter helping Mill Creek police locate a domestic violence suspect.

According to Ian Durkee, Mill Creek Police Information Officer, a domestic violence call at the Country Club Apartments kicked off an investigation, “Our investigation revealed probable cause for a court order violation, assault in the 2nd degree, theft 2nd degree, and unlawful imprisonment.”

“The suspect fled the scene and we used two Lynnwood K-9s and the help of Guardian 1 (King County Sheriff's Office helicopter) to locate the suspect hiding in the green belt east of Chopper Park.“

Durkee said, “The suspect was booked into Snohomish County Jail on the above listed charges.”

According to Durkee, the Mill Creek Police Department had assistance from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, Lynnwood Police, Mountlake Terrace Police, and the King County Sheriff’s Office.
