Every year clients at Pathways for Women, the YWCA women’s shelter in Lynnwood, receive crockpots and food donated by the Mill Creek Women’s Club. For families who come to the shelter with few belongings, this makes a big difference.
On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, Mill Creek Women’s Club representatives dropped off 27 crockpots to the Lynnwood women’s shelter for distribution to clients.
As Nora Karena, YWCA’s Regional Director of Housing Services shared, “This is such a help to our clients. It is wonderful to give them a brand-new crockpot when they move in. It’s one less thing for them to think about so they can focus more on finding stable housing.”
Women also receive a basket of food donated by the community, along with other essentials like bedding and dishes.
“The support from the Mill Creek Women’s Club, in addition to many businesses, agencies, and individuals in the community is incredible!” Karena exclaimed.
“We could not do what we do without this support,” continued Karena.
