Mayor Pro Tem Kathy Nielsen has officially announced that she will be seeking another term for the Mill Creek City Council.

Nielsen was elected to the council for her third term in 2010. She previously served on the council from 1990 to 1998, with two years as Mayor.

Nielsen served on the council during the planning stages of the Town Center and is a strong advocate of parks and community events.

Candidate’s Statement

“This has been my home for 33 years and I care about maintaining the character of our city. The Council has had to face some tough decisions to keep our city financially viable. I believe there is still more to be accomplished. Maintaining the quality of life, appearance and our reputation as a family friendly city with high standards will continue to strengthen our property values. I have been a strong supporter of our police department and will continue to focus on these basic services while also being accountable for every dollar the city spends. Citizens have chosen to call Mill Creek their home because of the quality of life it provides.”
