Sheriff Adam Fortney sworn in as Snohomish County’s 32nd Sheriff

Sheriff Adam Fortney was sworn in as Snohomish County’s 32nd sheriff on Monday, December 30, 2019. He has been a member of the Sheriff’s Office for nearly 23 years, working in patrol, K-9, and SWAT.

Sheriff Adam Fortney was sworn in as Snohomish County’s 32nd sheriff on Monday, December 30, 2019.

Fortney has been a member of the Sheriff’s Office for nearly 23 years, working in patrol, K-9, and SWAT.

He was promoted to sergeant in 2014 and his most recent assignment was to the south precinct graveyard shift, one of the busiest crews in the county.

On January 2nd, Sheriff Fortney will swear in his new Command Staff:

  • Undersheriff Jeff Brand,
  • Corrections Bureau Chief Jamie Kane,
  • Field Operations Bureau Chief Ian Huri,
  • Special Operations Bureau Chief Mark Richardson, and
  • Administration Bureau Chief Norm Link.

Combined, they bring with them 125+ years of experience in law enforcement.
