Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses nationwide. Saturday, November 30th, 2013, is Small Business Saturday.
This is a day for everyone to buy locally and support small businesses that invigorate the economy and keep communities thriving.
We have many wonderful and unique small businesses in Mill Creek and in my opinion it will be a far more enjoyable and less stressful experience to shop locally throughout the holiday season rather than deal with the traffic and crowds at the Mall.
In 2012, over one hundred million people came together on this day to shop locally at their favorite small businesses in their communities.
American Express founded Small Business Saturday in 2010 to help small businesses get more exposure during one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year. Last year, over 100 million people came out to shop at independently owned small businesses on the day. Now, in its third year, Small Business Saturday will be even bigger.
Up until 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time on November 30th you can enroll your American Express card online. When you shop at a participating small business on the 30th, you will receive a $10 statement credit.
Go to www.shopsmall.com to find out which businesses are participating on the 30th but be sure to also check with your favorite small business as this list is not completely accurate.
Some of our favorite participating Mill Creek businesses are: Avanti Sports at the Mill Creek Tennis Club, the Mill Creek University Bookstore, the Rusty Pelican Cafe, Elle Marie Hair Sudio, and Laughing Buddha Yoga Studio.
