Snohomish County Sheriff's Office recovers missing woman's body east of Mill Creek

The Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a missing female near the 6300 block of Snohomish Cascade Drive just east of Mill Creek. The body was discovered by someone walking in the area at around 8:00 pm on Wednesday evening, January 15, 2020.

January 16, 2020, 8:45 pm update.

According to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner, the body was identified as Kathleen Jenks, who died of hypothermia.

In a letter to parents, Little Cedars Elementary School Principal Lew Dickert said, "2nd grade teacher Kathy Jenks unexpectedly passed away."

He went on to say, "Her death is a profound loss to our Little Cedars Elementary family, our school district and to the Snohomish community."

The Sheriff’s Office recovered the body of a missing female near the 6300 block of Snohomish Cascade Drive just east of Mill Creek. The body was discovered by someone walking in the area at around 8:00 pm on Wednesday evening, January 15th.

The decedent is believed to be a 57 year-old female who was reported missing on Monday, January 13th.

The death does not appear to be suspicious in nature, but is being investigated by detectives with the Major Crimes Unit.

Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.
