West Coast Aquatics hold Swim-a-Thon to raise funds for facility improvements

On Saturday, May 4, 2013 the swimmers of the WEST Coast Aquatics swim team in Mill Creek will be holding an official Swim-a-Thon to raise funds to support their facility.

On Saturday, May 4, 2013 the swimmers of the WEST Coast Aquatics swim team in Mill Creek will be holding an official Swim-a-Thon.

During the Swim-a-Thon, these competitive swimmers, who range in age from 7 to 17, will swim for 2 hours or up to 200 lengths of their pool, that's 3 miles! And they hope to raise $50,000.00!

Swim-A-Thon is a nationwide program, with 5% of the money raised going to support national swimming programs, such as Make a Splash, through the USA Swimming Foundation.

Registration for the Run of the Mill starts April 1st

The 28th Annual Run of the Mill 5K will be held in the Mill Creek Town Center on Saturday, July 6th, 2013.

The Run of the Mill 5K is a community charity event presented by Title Sponsor and organizer Steve Knox of Columbia Funding Mortgage. The Run of the Mill 5k has been an annual event in Mill Creek for twenty-eight years. This is the longest continuously active event in Mill Creek.

Since the Run of the Mill became a charity event in 2006, over $190,000 has been donated to cancer charities, scholarships, and local high school running and swim teams.

Pre-Registration will be open April 1st at www.mcrunofthemill.com and will be limited to 2000 participants.

Jackson High School’s new all-weather track dedicated

Everett Public Schools and City of Mill Creek officials dedicated the Timberwolves’ new all-weather track on Saturday, March 16, 2013.

The days of running through and around mud puddles are over for the Jackson High School track team. Everett Public Schools and City of Mill Creek officials dedicated the Timberwolves’ new all-weather track on Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Although the construction of the new track was completed in time for last fall’s cross-country season, the dedication ceremony was saved for the beginning of the track season.

High school softball – Eastlake 6, Jackson 1

Eastlake High School defeated Jackson High School 6-1 at Eastlake High School in a 4A cross-conference game at Eastlake High School on Monday, March 11, 2013. This was the opening game for the season for both teams.

The Everett Herald reports, “Sophia Frost struck out five and allowed one earned run, but four costly errors in the fourth led to an Eastlake win. Offensively the Timberwolves were led by Kayla Ellis' double and Jessica Roy's solo home run.”
