On June 13, 2019, South County Fire filed a petition with the Snohomish County Council seeking a fireworks ban within the regional fire authority’s unincorporated service area. The cities in this area already have bans in place, but fireworks remain legal in unincorporated communities.

Glacier Peak High School teacher Tami Caraballo named as 2020 Regional Teacher of the Year

Tami Caraballo was selected as the 2020 Regional Teacher of the Year from a competitive group of seven teacher nominees from across the Northwest Educational Service District Region. Caraballo is a Science and Bio Tech teacher at Glacier Peak High School in the Snohomish School District.

Community Transit drivers from Mill Creek and Everett receive Million Mile Awards

Two Community Transit drivers were honored this week with the agency’s prestigious Million Mile Award for safe driving. The drivers qualified for the distinction by meeting strict National Safety Council guidelines for driving the equivalent of one million and two million miles without a preventable accident.

Public input sought on Snohomish County affordable housing and community development needs

Snohomish County will hold three public hearings the week of June 4, 2019, to obtain input on how federal funding will be used for housing and community development needs over the next five-years. People who are unable to attend any of the three events can email their written comments as well.
