Snohomish County Fire District 7 recently hired four firefighters. Tyler Compton, Jessica Hanna, Bryan Kerr and Riley Korf started in July after a comprehensive testing process that included more than 330 applicants.
Each of them comes to Fire District 7 with previous fire department experience as follows:
- Compton has volunteered and worked part-time at various fire departments, most recently with Lake Stevens Fire, Sedro-Woolley Fire Department and Skagit County Fire District 6.
- Hanna has more than seven years of firefighting experience, most recently volunteering at Eastside Fire and Rescue.
- Kerr has volunteer and part-time firefighter experience, most recently with Granite Falls Fire and the North County Regional Fire Authority.
- Korf has worked part-time with several fire departments, most recently with Lake Stevens Fire and Snohomish County Fire District 22.
They were assigned to the training division at Fire District 7 until August, 7, 2014, when they began 480 hours of fire training at the Washington State Patrol Fire Academy.
After completion of the academy in November they will start on shift as probationary firefighters.
