Clearview, Washington  –  Snohomish County Fire District 7 staff and firefighters adopted  fourteen local families, including 48 children, for the 2013 holiday season. Each fire station assisted two to three families in need, providing gifts for the children.

Many of the families also received gift cards for groceries, thanks to a $300 donation from the Mill Creek Lions Club.  Other businesses in the fire district donated gift cards including the Maltby Cafe, Maltby Pizza, McDonald’s (Clearview) and Mongos.

“We really enjoy being able to provide support to families in our own community,” explained Lieutenant Joe Basta, who organizes the annual gift drive. “We also really appreciate the donations from local businesses; their generosity helped provide the families with some basic needs, not just toys and gifts.”
