Firefighters quickly knock down garage fire south of Mill Creek

Snohomish County Fire District 7 firefighters quickly handled a garage fire south of Mill Creek on Thursday afternoon, June 6, 2013. One person was taken to hospital with burns to his legs and face.

Autumn Waite, Snohomish County Fire District 7 Public Information Officer reported, “Just after 2:30 pm. Snohomish County Fire District 7 responded to a report of a garage fire in the 2000 block of 196th St. SE just north of Bothell in unincorporated Snohomish County.“

“Crews could see a smoke column as they approached and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the end unit of a detached garage. They were able to quickly knock down the flames, limiting fire damage to two units. Crews had to cut open the garage doors on two other units to ensure the fire hadn’t spread.”

“One person sustained burns to his legs and face and was transported to a local hospital. There were no other injuries.”

“More than 20 firefighters responded, including an engine from Bothell Fire. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal's is investigating the cause of the fire.”
