According to Scott Smith, Mill Creek City Engineer, contractors for Mill Creek’s road overlay project and the separate Village Green sidewalk reconstruction project may begin the week of August 19th, 2013.
However, Smith said both of the contractors have a very high workload and the schedule may change, “as the contractor juggles the needs of four different agencies and the Snohomish County paving work.”
Here is what Smith said in an August 13, 2013 email:
“2013 Local Overlay - Overlay work is tentatively scheduled to begin in Mill Creek during the week of August 19th with grinding on 148th Street SE. The order of priority for the overlay work is 148th Street SE to avoid school impacts, then 35th Avenue SE, then Mill Creek Blvd / Village Green Drive. The work may not be continuous as the contractor juggles the needs of four different agencies and the Snohomish County paving work, and the schedule is subject to change. Work on the associated curb ramp upgrade project continues along the overlay routes in the same priority as the paving. Current details will be provided on the City’s new webpage as warranted.”
“Village Green Drive Wall Reconstruction - The wall construction project along Village Green Drive between 148th Street SE and 28th Drive SE (Cottonwood) will begin during the week of August 19th and be completed by August 30th. After removal of the existing sidewalk and wall, further work has been pending on relocation of a fiber optic line and submittal of materials by the contractor. An arborist is assessing the remaining trees on the slope behind the wall to ensure their long-term viability.”
