The Mill Creek Police Department, the Parks & Recreation Department and Marysville Bike Shop hosted the first annual BMX Bike Jam and Competition on Saturday, September 6th, 2014, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The event was held at the Mill Creek Sports Park – 13903 North Creek Drive, Mill Creek, and was FREE for all participants.

Participants received Prizes/Giveaways throughout the event.
The competition featured a best trick competition and multiple heats of riders in different divisions.
The Bike Jam was a huge success due to the efforts of Officer Mike Harris, Brian Davern, Tracy Dyson, Burlington Bike Park and Bob Olson from Marysville Bike Shop.
Mill Creek’s BMX Bike Jam grew out of the city’s once a month Bike Night, which is the brain child of Mill Creek’s full-time bicycle cop, Mike Harris. He has been hosting Bike Night on the first Friday of every month since 2012.
Harris started monthly Bike Night at the Mill Creek Sports Park to give BMX riders a chance to use the skateboard park’s concrete bowl, stairs, and ledges to practice tricks. Bikes are normally disallowed because running bikers and skateboarders at the same time is unsafe.
“Officer Harris was instrumental in getting Bike Night going. He has done an outstanding job giving bike riders a place to have fun and ride safely,” said Mill Creek City Manager Ken Armstrong.
All BMX riders are invited to join Officer Mike Harris on the first Friday of every month from 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm at Mill Creek Sports Park – Skate Park for Bike Night.
