Mill Creek Little League Softball All Stars beats Southern California in first West Region Tournament game

Mill Creek’s majors division softball team won their first West Region Tournament game 3-1 over Southern California on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

Mill Creek’s 11 and 12-year-olds advanced to the Little League Softball West Region Tournament in San Bernardino by winning the Washington State Championship in Poulsbo on July 7th. They came out on top by winning all five state championship tournament games and outscoring their opponents 52-3.

Emery Tulio’s double in the fourth inning on Sunday scored two runs putting Mill Creek ahead of the Southern California team for good.

Mill Creek’s Yanina Sherwood struck out seven batters and only allowed six hits. She walked just one batter and showed her strong command with 19 first pitch strikes.

Emery, Gabrielle Raysbrook, Kendall Westman, Leneyah Mitchell, Allie Thomsen, and Yanina provided Mill Creek’s offense with one hit apiece.

On Tuesday, July 23rd, Mill Creek plays Hawaii in their second West Region Tournament game.

Mill Creek’s roster includes: Addison Bale, Kyla Conant, Elena Eigner, Cael Hare, Kiana Holden, Leneyah Mitchell, Gabrielle Raysbrook, Yanina Sherwood, Allie Thomsen, Emery Tulio, Kendall Westman, Reese Westman, and Aubree Orr.
