The Mill Creek area hasn’t had a farmer’s market since 2014 when the Farmer’s Market at Willis Tucker Park last featured local food products in an open-air setting.
Since then, Mill Creek residents have had to venture out to Bothell, Everett, Snohomish, or Mukilteo to support local farmers and satisfy their farmer’s market cravings.
In an effort to bring the community together and promote local merchants, the City of Mill Creek will launch the Mill Creek Farmer’s Market on Friday afternoon, May 25, 2018, in the City Hall North parking lot. The market will be held each Friday afternoon after that through August 31st.
According to information obtained from the City of Mill Creek, the City Hall North parking lot location was chosen “because the City owns the property and there are no traffic impacts by closing the parking lot.”
Since there are no public rest rooms in the Mill Creek Town Center or adjoining shopping centers, the location also allows farmer’s market visitors to use the public rest rooms at City Hall.
The city hopes to house 25 to 32 vendors each of the 15 Friday afternoons through the summer.
Stay tuned for more information as the plans for the Mill Creek Farmer’s Market are finalized.
