The Mill Creek Parks and Recreation Department has offered a premier youth instructional basketball League for the families in the City of Mill Creek and surrounding areas since 1998.
One of the main focuses of the program is to provide a quality experience for girls and boys in kindergarten through ninth grade.
The league utilizes 11 local schools within the Everett School District boundaries to hold team practices, trainings, clinics and weekend games. Last year, the league served 81 teams.
The league has become one of the largest youth basketball instructional programs in the Everett School District boundaries due to its reputation for an affordable and family friendly program.
For many of the high school students, the program offers a great opportunity for a first time work experience as a referee. Students receive compensation for their assigned duties of monitoring weekend games, score keeping and being an outstanding role model to League participants.
We are currently seeking high school and college students to add to our current outstanding youth basketball staff.
Practices will begin in mid to late November. Practice will take place once or twice per week based on grade level and gym availability. Kindergarten will practice on Saturdays.
There will be an eight-game season for first to ninth grade teams played during the day on Saturdays, beginning in January 2014.
Kindergarten teams will play a six-game season beginning at the end of January.
Youth recreational sport programs offer a positive environment in which self-esteem grows and blossoms. The Mill Creek Parks and Recreation Department is committed to offering quality programs at an affordable price.
