Fire causes $160,000 damage to home north of Mill Creek

Neighbors reported black smoke coming from the back of the two-story house in the 11400 block of 31st Ave. SE near Silver Lake just before 3 p.m. The back of the house was in flames when firefighters arrived and there was fire in the attic.

Firefighters host July 4th waterball contest in Edmonds

Volunteer firefighters from Snohomish County Fire District 1 will host the free event that has been a Fourth of July tradition in Edmonds for years.

Many families picnic in the park and watch the competition after the parade and before the fireworks show.

Firefighters save shop from burning recreational vehicle

A large shop only sustained minor damage after quick action by firefighters at an early morning fire on Saturday, June 15th.

A neighbor called 9-1-1 just before 2:30 a.m. to report a recreational vehicle fire spreading to a building in the 4600 block of 240th Street SE in unincorporated Snohomish County.

Firefighters arrived to find a 40-foot recreational vehicle engulfed in flames and spreading to the two-story shop it was parked alongside. Although the closest fire hydrant was more than 800 feet away, firefighters were able to quickly knock down the flames and keep the fire from spreading even further.

Autumn Waite, Snohomish County Fire District 7 Public Information Officer reported, “Just after 2:30 pm. Snohomish County Fire District 7 responded to a report of a garage fire in the 2000 block of 196th St. SE just north of Bothell in unincorporated Snohomish County.“

Fire causes $100,000 damage to condo near Martha Lake

No one was injured in a fire that caused more than $100,000 damage to a condominium in the Martha Lake area west of Mill Creek Saturday morning, May 18, 2013.

A passerby called 9-1-1 at 8 a.m. to report flames coming from the two-story, eight-unit building in the 16800 block of Larch Way. The caller then alerted residents in the building to evacuate. No one was inside the unit where the fire was burning.

Firefighters from Fire Districts 1 and 7 responded and had the fire under control in less than 15 minutes.
